December Beauty Favorites
I always find my everyday skincare routine changing based on my surrounding weather conditions. It's finally cold in SoCal, which means hello to drier skin and chapped lips, eek. However, this also gives me the perfect excuse to try out some new products to see what works best for my skin! In today's post, I share a couple of skincare favorites that I have used for several months along with a few new items I've picked up this holiday season!
OBAGI Exfoliating Cleanser
Ever since my first appointment with my dermatologist, I've been using this product every single morning. I used to suffer from extreme cystic acne on my chin, but several months of using this cleanser definitely did the trick. My chin is now a lot more clear and I'm not afraid to not wear foundation on an everyday basis anymore! My past skin condition was so extreme to the point where I felt insecure going out in public without foundation - which probably didn't help my skin condition case either. This cleanser literally works like magic. Feel free to read more about my previous everyday skincare routine using this product in a past blog post here.
Glycolix 10-2 Pads
In addition to the exfoliating cleanser, I also picked up these acidic Glycolix 10-2 Pads from the same dermatologist appointment. I always use one pad per morning after applying and washing off the exfoliating cleanser. With one swipe of the pad, it leaves a powerful cooling effect on my skin. After using the cleanser and pads as a duo, my skin definitely appeared clearer within a week of consistent use. There are 60 pads in one container so I always make sure to purchase more on Amazon whenever I run out! One container lasts for approximately 2 months, which isn't a bad price to pay for beautiful, healthy skin!
Cerave Facial Moisturizing Lotion (SPF 30)
It's terrible of me to say, but I never put on sunscreen on an everyday basis until just recently. However, it's always better late than never, am I right? The Cerave Facial Moisturizing Lotion is another product recommended by my dermatologist and I've been using it ever since. After using the first two products mentioned above, I follow up with this sunscreen lotion. I prefer to use this product over various other sunscreens because it has a very lightweight texture and applies smoothly to my face, unlike other sunscreens that feel sticky or carry a strong smell. This is a great sunscreen lotion to use right before you apply your makeup for the day, I guarantee it!
OZ Naturals: Ultra Ageless Eye Creme, Vitamin C Facial Serum, & Hyaluronic Acid Serum
The OZ Naturals line has been a godsend ever since I discovered this brand recently. Not only does this brand inform you of what exact ingredients you are applying to your skin, but they make their products in a cruelty-free manner too (#winning)! The first product I used in their line includes their Ultra Ageless Eye Creme, which you can actually apply to both under your eyes and entire face. That's a pretty versatile eye creme if you ask me ;) You can find my more in-depth product review on their eye creme here.
Additionally, I recently was able to try their Vitamin C Facial Serum and Hyaluronic Acid Serum and I am seriously in love! On some nights before I wrap myself like a burrito in bed watching Netflix, I apply the OZ Naturals Vitamin C Facial Serum, followed by their Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The Vitamin C Facial Serum has a very rosy smell and keeps my face looking and feeling very moisturized by the end of the night - a similar feeling to using a facial sheet mask, if you ask me. I use the Vitamin C serum first as way to absorb extra moisture from the next product I apply to my face, which is the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The Hyaluronic Acid Serum tightens and firms my skin for the night, leaving it as soft as a baby's bottom!
Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster
This skin renewal booster was one of my most recent pick-ups, but I couldn't be happier! After taking off my makeup for the day, I apply this serum on to my face to give it the moisture and hydration it needs. Putting on makeup every single day or a couple times per week really takes a toll on your skin (makeup makes my skin more dry!) so this product has proven to be very useful for my nighttime skincare ritual!
SoftLips Vanilla
I absolutely love, love, love Vanilla, whether this flavor or scent comes in the form of a perfume bottle, candle, or lip balm. SoftLips has always been my go-to lip balm brand and the Vanilla flavor definitely does not disappoint. I'm not a huge fan of those lip balm tins where you have to use your finger to apply the balm to your lips - that just gets unnecessarily sticky and messy! With SoftLips Vanilla, you can easily apply this lip balm across your lips in just a few swipes. Convenient and affordable, this lip balm does the job.
And that's about all of the December Beauty Favorites that I wanted to share with you guys today! What are your favorite skincare products? Let me know in the comments below - I'd love to check them out!
Much Love,
